Saturday morning in Durban, on Suncoast beach : the sun is
trying to find its way in the clouds, the wind is slowly picking
up, nice waves appear around noon. A large public has made the
journey to Suncoast beach and is waiting for the kiteboarding
show.
We already completed the first round last Tuesday. Greg
Heydenrych (RSA) won 16 years hold, Herve Bourre (FRA) arrived 2nd,
Arnaud Dussen, Portuguese Champion(POR) 3rd and Gavin Spowart (RSA)
4th.
The conditions on this Saturday morning still do not allow us to
launch the double elimination but a Best Trick session. The nice
thing about kiteboarding is that you do not need a strong wind to
offer a show to the spectators.
The riders get ready in a couple of minutes and the race
direction gave the kick off right away. They all give their outmost
for the spectators on site. The South-African Alan Steele and Gavin
Spowart are just outstanding in the water, playing with the waves.
Alan won the Best Trick session and Gavin arrived 2nd. The women
raced during the day. Beck's did her outmost and won the best
tricks contest.
The prize giving was staged on Sunday at 1pm. Riders, sponsors,
organizers, everybody was there and congratulate Nerve Events, for
their excelle
