In November, Kiteboarding magazine editor Aaron Sales and photographer Bill Doster traveled to the Turks and Caicos with 19-year-old British kiteboarding champion Sam Light to shoot the cover and lead feature for the March 2010 issue. Led by Philip Shearer and his Big Blue Unlimited boat charter company, the group discovered a kiteboarding paradise teeming with options. Each day, Shearer asked the crew whether they’d prefer flat-water or surf sessions, or would they rather find secluded beaches or explore new sections of coastline on long-distance downwinders. Doster’s photos of Sales, Light, Shearer, as well as Big Blue kiteboarding instructor Wes Matweyew and 16-year-old local phenom Hope Le Vin, give you a good idea of just how epic the Turks and Caicos are as a kiteboarding destination. Check out the full feature in the March issue, which is on newsstands now, and check back soon for the second installment of Doster’s photos from the trip.

I think that the photos are incredible shots of the TCI beaches, along with sunsetting view, as well as the kiteboarding champs.
more photos please
Quite interesting. I was in Middle Cacios on Friday, and was at Mudjih harbor. I can confirm that it is a great kiteboarding location because of the many waves and lack of reef presence. It looks from your photo that everyone enjoyed their experience. Kiteboarding is a big sport in TCI and I am happy that Mr. Sam Light choose to use the Turks and Caicos Islands for his photo shoot location. It would be interesting to see which photo was chosen for the cover of the magazine.
