In November, Kiteboarding managing editor Brian Wheeler and photographer Erin Calmes traveled to the British Virgin Islands to experience Sir Richard Branson’s Necker Island and a host of other world-class kiteboarding spots in the lead up to the inaugural BVI Kite Jam. From the stellar wave riding, scenic downwinders and epic flatwater of surprising empty Anegada to the calm, deep-water harbor of Virgin Gorda’s Bitter End, Wheeler discovered that the kiting potential, island lifestyle and heavenly beauty of the BVI surpassed his wildest dreams.
